Partner and Urban Designer Chris Bath has led on many significant masterplanning and regeneration projects at BPTW, working closely with existing communities to create new and improved neighbourhoods. With placemaking at the heart of his work, he has been responsible for leading on many successful projects across London and the South East of England; these range from the regeneration of existing estates such as the community-led regeneration of the Rectory Park Estate in Ealing, and Stockwell Park Estate in Lambeth, to the establishing of new garden-city communities in Kent. Chris has led on BPTW’s successful expansion in Kent with award-winning projects like Rochester Riverside, a 1400-home, mixed-use regeneration scheme in Medway created with locally inspired architecture and an extensive public realm; the project was crowned with the 2020 Housing Design Awards ‘Winner of Winners’ award, as well as the ‘Building for a Healthy Life’ award, a testament to the sustainable placemaking properties of the scheme which promote active travel and healthy streets, and places the wellbeing of a mixed community at the centre of the design thinking.
