Working closely with Countryside and Hyde, BPTW has led on developing detailed design for the first four phases of the development.

Aiming to establish a thriving and diverse community, we have developed 656 homes of all tenures, ranging from family homes to masionettes and apartments, as well as commercial floorspace, and a new hotel. Drawing inspiration from the wider Medway area, the designs strike a balance between referencing the rich, historic fabric of the city and offering a new vibrant urban quarter. To improve connections between the town and the River Medway, Rochester Riverside is set within a network of public, open space, specifically designed for the historical riverside location.

Rochester Riverside Phase 1B was crowned the ‘Winner of Winners’ at the Housing Design Awards 2020, having also picked up the ‘Building for a Healthy Life’ award. Phase 7 of the scheme has been shortlisted at the Housing Design Awards 2022.
