We are delighted to see great progress on BPTW’s Rochester Riverside Phase 3, with construction due to complete imminently.  Alongside BPTW’s award-winning design for phases 1 and 2, Rochester Riverside Phase 3 is contributing to a new destination neighbourhood with all 3 phases providing 656 homes and mixed uses for Countryside and Hyde on the River Medway.

BPTW’s latest photographs from our recent visit capture how the historic city’s architecture and spatial characteristics inspire the new homes, streets and public realm. The varied material pallet and architectural detailing vital to the scheme’s quality is visible on the new buildings, including the spotted brickwork characteristic of Medway.

Alongside the newest phase, the photographs illustrate how the richly landscaped public realm and well-considered placemaking across all three phases strengthen the neighbourhood’s local identity. The opening of Phase 3 extends the development’s riverside walk that leads to the historic city centre, including Furrell’s Park, Blue Boar Square, and the Blue Boar Crane – a recognisable landmark on the river Medway. These new public spaces complement the station square and Cory’s Creek in Phases 1 and 2, which were nominated in the Planning Awards’ placemaking category earlier this year.
