BPTW is looking for someone who is keen to develop their career in business development and marketing within the built environment industry.

The Role

Supporting our Business Development and Marketing Team, and working closely with our Graphic Designer and Business Development and Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in implementing business development, public relations and marketing initiatives.

You will be organising and coordinating internal events, as well arranging BPTW representation at external industry events. You will work with teams from across the practice and use your coordination and time management skills to help pull together high-quality bid proposal documents and help research and gather information to develop engaging written content.

General marketing tasks are a large part of the role, including content writing, website upkeep, e-communications and keeping our plans and schedules up to date. You will also be responsible for ensuring our social-media channels are active and our inboxes are monitored.

What you will bring

Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organised and a confident communicator who is comfortable working with colleagues at all seniority levels, as you will often be coordinating the input from others to meet multiple deadlines.

You will ideally have some experience in managing social media channels and some knowledge and understanding of the importance of brand guidelines and consistency in brand voice and visual language – with a desire to further develop   this area of expertise.

Excellent writing and administrative skills are essential, and experience of working in a similar administrative role requiring a high level of coordination, would be very beneficial.  A relevant marketing or communications degree would be advantageous but is not a requirement for the role. Experience using InDesign, and a keen eye for design in general, would also be a valuable addition.

If you have experience or interest in housing, architecture, construction or any related fields, and are keen to develop in the early stages of your business development and marketing career, this could be the role for you.

Essential knowledge, skills & experience

  • Experience working in a similar administration focused role, requiring a high level of coordination
  • Experience of managing social media and other digital marketing channels
  • An understanding of the importance of brand voice and visual language
  • Experience in providing and editing written content
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Strong coordination and administrative skills
  • An interest in and knowledge of the housing, architectural, urban design and built environment industries

Desirable skills

  • A degree or other professional qualifications in marketing or communications
  • Experience in the architectural, design or construction industry
  • Experience of tendering and bids processes
  • Previous experience of internal/external communications and layout design
  • Previous experience of event coordination
  • Knowledge of or an interest in developing skills in Adobe InDesign

Personal attributes

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to plan ahead
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative aptitude
  • Works with initiative but knows when to ‘check in’
  • Works well within a team environment
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines and can coordinate a multitude of tasks (and people) effectively
  • Comfortable communicating with senior members of staff
