About the Role

We are looking for Architectural professionals who have a high level of technical design skills and experience in leading or contributing to the later stages of project delivery.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of all RIBA stages, in particular stages 3 through to 6. They will have a collaborative approach to development and knowledge sharing, as well as professional, post qualification experience gained in a UK architectural practice – preferably involving the delivery of large-scale UK residential and regeneration projects.

Depending on experience, the role will include running projects from RIBA Stage 3 or working within a project team on larger delivery stage projects. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in the use of REVIT, CAD and hand-drawing. They will also have good knowledge of the current technical requirements, including Gateway procedures, and an interest in emerging legislation changes affecting the delivery of projects.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Either a Batchelor’s Degree in Architectural Technology, a Post Graduate qualification in Architectural Design or the equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience of working on UK residential and regeneration projects, in particular during the later stages of delivery.
  • Experience in preparing technical delivery drawings and good knowledge of construction detailing.
  • Technical knowledge of current UK Building Regulations.
  • Knowledge of current building safety legislation relating to fire safety design & Gateway procedures.
  • Demonstrable competence in technical detailing.
  • Working knowledge of RIBA work stages, predominately 3-6.
  • High level of competence in, and an up-to-date knowledge of Revit and NBS software.

 

Desirable

  • Awareness of industry standard construction technologies.
  • Experience with the HSE Gateway processes & specialist warranty providers such as NHBC and LABC.

Project Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain project drawings from REVIT model in compliance with QA and Safety management Systems.
  • Ensure the adequate integration of technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings to ensure project maintains alignment with current regulations.
  • Modelling in REVIT and, where required to, comply with BIM and COBIE standards for model information integrity.
  • Research both project briefs and into relevant materials and construction products to meet the needs of the project and wider team were required.
  • Prepare drawings in accordance with criteria for RIBA Stage 3, 4 & 5, noting specific client and regulatory requirements in line with project specific requirements and BSR Gateway procedures where relevant for planning, tender, Gateway submission or construction purposes.
  • Prepare reports, documentation and document control of incoming third-party material and design information.
  • Assist in the daily administration of project related information in line with standards and procedures of the Practice.
  • Draft and maintain NBS specifications, researching products and construction methods.
  • Update Project Lead and Leadership Team on project progress and key issues.
  • Communicate project requirements to the Leadership Team and suggest appropriate resources for the current workload, and where variations are proposed.
  • Prepare and present information at Design Team Meetings (DTM).
  • Maintain ARB or CIAT Code of Conduct were relevant to ensure compliance with competencies for professional body.
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with internal and external parties/client teams.
