We are excited to announce that three of BPTW schemes have been shortlisted for this year’s First Time Buyer Reader’s Awards.

Shortlisted for Best Medium Development, Woolwich Reach in Newham is a 13-storey scheme designed for Notting Hill Genesis that takes advantage of its prominent riverside location with  spectacular views across The Thames. The contemporary open-plan homes feature a specification designed for first time buyers – including energy-efficient underfloor heating and window blinds; integrated appliances; and floor-to-ceiling dual-aspect windows. Spacious private balconies are complemented by the development’s landscaped communal garden, maximising river views for residents.

Now marketed as Aspect, Croydon, our scheme at Cambridge House, also for Notting Hill Genesis, has been shortlisted for the Best First Time Buyer Apartment. The  development offers 92 mixed-tenure homes in a landmark 26-storey residential building in the heart of Croydon’s tall buildings district. We developed an efficient layout to address the restricted nature of the site, enabling 79% of dwellings to be dual or triple-aspect with high levels of natural light internally and views across London. The flexible, enclosed winter gardens, allow residents to fully open or enclose their private amenity space which is particularly important at height and acts as an added buffer for the living spaces.

Also nominated is McAarthur’s Yard in Bristol which has been shortlisted for Best New Development in the South. BPTW is delivering the post-planning technical design with contractor Hill for this exciting development on Bristol’s waterfront. The project for Guinness Homes will provide 142 homes across three interconnected blocks, ranging from 1-8 storeys, with mixed commercial workspace and a café.
