Farnborough House, which will provide 38 affordable homes within the Alton Estate, was recently given planning permission at committee.

Appointed by Wandsworth Borough Council, BPTW has designed the homes to Passivhaus Classic Standard, achieving an overall saving in regulated carbon emissions of 80%.

The development and associated landscape improvements will enhance connections between the wider community through new routes, a new play area sitting centrally between the new blocks, and a communal kitchen garden for all residents to enjoy.

BPTW collaborated with an occupational therapist to deliver homes designed to M4(2) and M4(3) accessibility standards. The proposed blocks have been carefully designed to complement the character of the surrounding estate with contemporary references to architectural features on existing blocks through brick tones, fenestration arrangement, and material choice.

Farnborough House is one of several developments that BPTW is designing for the London Borough of Wandsworth. We look forward to seeing the project being realised as part of the wider Wandsworth regeneration.
