We are proud to share that BPTW’s design to revitalise the East Barnwell neighbourhood has won the Project of the Year category at the EastProp Awards. The design reimagines a historically underinvested area in Cambridge into a vibrant, sustainable centre at the heart of the local community.
BPTW conducted an initial urban design study to determine the schemeโs spatial principles before providing lead architect services and managing a multidisciplinary design team up to planning submission for the Cambridge Investment Partnership.

Rooted in the Vision for East Barnwell and Framework for Change, this project is a model for sustainable, inclusive regeneration. With Passivhaus-benchmarked homes, BREEAM Excellent community buildings, and a 20% biodiversity net gain, itโs a future-forward neighbourhood that puts people and place first.
It was great to celebrate this incredible achievement alongside Carter Jonas and the Cambridge Investment Partnership team from Hill Group UK and Cambridge City Council.
