We are pleased to announce that De Havilland Place, a scheme for Bellway Homes which will deliver one of the final parcels in the Kings Hill masterplan, was approved unanimously at committee earlier this week. After 30 years in development, Kings Hill now has an established, desirable and sustainable community in Kent where residents have all the necessary facilities on their doorsteps enabling them to work, live and play in the same location.

De Havilland Place will offer 210 beautifully-designed mixed-tenure homes across five character areas which celebrates the existing landscape of Kings Hill, with homes fronting onto the woodland edges. Landscaped pedestrian friendly connections will also create pleasant walking routes across site and beyond encouraging active travel.

Inspiration has been drawn from the surrounding villages of West Malling and Offham, with traditional building forms being used to inform the material choices and elevational treatments of the scheme. Across each character area, a range of homes can be found from 1-bedroom flats through to 5-bedroom family homes, all designed to suit family living and to maximise views across the surrounding ancient woodlands. Alongside providing attractive new homes, a strong focus has been placed on delivering an attractive public realm with a village green located at the heart of the development to provide residents with amenity space.

This landmark approval is a result of collaboration between the design team including DHA Planning Group, planning officers at Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council. De Havilland Place follows our work on an earlier phase in the masterplan, Liberty Quarter, which provides 52 homes.
