Both  Teviot Estate and Rochester Riverside have been shortlisted as finalists at the Landscape Institute Awards for Excellence in Place Regeneration.

Teviot Estate

Developed over more than five years in collaboration with Hill, Poplar HARCA, Lichfield Planning and Outerspace, the regeneration of Teviot Estate is setting a new benchmark for sustainable, community centred neighbourhood renewal.

From the outset, residents have been at the heart of the vision. Through an extensive engagement programme involving over 800 residents, the masterplan has been shaped it’s residents. With an overwhelming 86% vote in favour of the proposals, the project has delivered meaningful social value through school workshops, STEM-focused careers programmes for young women, mentoring and employment support initiatives, financial contributions, and ongoing support for the Teviot Festival.

Delivering approximately 1,928 high-quality homes, the masterplan creates a thriving new neighbourhood where homes, green spaces, shops and community facilities come together. New parks and play spaces promote healthier lifestyles whilst fostering stronger community connections.

Teviot Estate is an exemplar of inclusive placemaking that creates lasting social, economic and environmental value whilst setting a new standard for sustainable urban regeneration in London.

Rochester Riverside

A landmark regeneration project uniquely designed for the prominent riverside location, enhancing connections between the town and the river Medway.

Central to this vision is the commitment to placemaking. Comprehensive consultations with local council members, stakeholders and residents have strengthened the local identity of Rochester Riverside, and helped to create a vibrant community.

Urban greening is integrated throughout the streetscape through a considered tree-planting and landscape strategy. Connectivity and access to the river are enhanced by a new riverside walk extending across the entire masterplan, which also provides connections to the historic town centre, wider public transport network, and key local services.

BPTW have contributed to the successful development, which currently totals 1,009 homes across multiple tenures. Widely regarded as an exemplar of design excellence, Rochester Riverside now has 22 awards and shortlisting’s to date.
