Following our award success last year, BPTW has been shortlisted for ‘Architect Employer of the Year’ for a second time at the 2022 Building Design Awards.

At BPTW, the wellbeing and development of our staff are central to our business practices, and this award nomination helps recognise and motivate our ongoing drive to make BPTW an inclusive and outstanding workplace.

Encouraged by our win last year, we have continued to drive forward our efforts in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion by maintaining BAME representation at 23% and fostering a healthy gender balance where 45% of our staff are women. Our EDI Steering Group continues to champion diversity and strives for an equal balance through our evolving recruitment processes. Regular events promoting inclusivity and belonging have been a core part of our social calendar, with social activities complementing Black History Month, Pride Month, and International Women’s Day.

There has been much positive change at BPTW over the last year, including ten staff promotions into senior management positions and our exciting expansion into Urban Design services. We are also pleased to have supported our staff through their professional development, including funding the training of three newly qualified architects and four Passive House Certified Designers. We continue to be a hybrid working studio to give our staff the flexibility they need to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

This year’s nomination represents a further milestone in our efforts to create a welcoming and enjoyable workplace.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 18th of October.
