Last week, members of our architectural and human resources teams ran a careers workshop at the Teviot Centre, a local community asset on the Teviot Estate in Tower Hamlets which offers recreation, fitness, wellbeing, training and advice services.

Our team collaborated with Leaders in Community, a youth-led charity run by young people who want to improve their local services in Tower Hamlets, to deliver a workshop focused on empowering young women in the area to explore different career paths as part of their ‘Be.Inspired’ project. ‘Be.Inspired’ invites inspirational women across the area to participate in talks and workshops on a number of topics including work, mental health, race and religion. Through a presentation and detailed discussions on what each of the roles at the practice entails, our team offered valuable insights into career options in both architecture and key areas of the business, which will hopefully inspire a number of young women to pursue a career in the industries we work in.

Appointed as masterplanner on the regeneration of the Teviot Estate in Tower Hamlets, our team is working with Poplar HARCA, Hill and local residents to design a scheme of 1,750 homes as well as a range of high quality community facilities which will sit at the heart of the community. As part of this transformative scheme, we are delivering a detailed package of social value, tailored to the needs of the Estate community.
