BPTW has opened a second UK studio in Birmingham this week. As a practice we have experienced strong regional expansion over the past few years, and the addition of the new Midlands hub reflects our confidence in the growth of development opportunities in the Midlands and surrounding regions.

Over 30 years BPTW has forged a strong reputation as specialists in residential-led development, working with many leading private developers and housing associations. We have also been working with 12 different local authorities to develop their housebuilding programmes, with work ranging from small site development to large scale regeneration schemes.

With this experience and expertise, and as more local authorities bring forward major new investment and development plans, this move will allow BPTW to continue growing our development portfolio, and explore further opportunities to work nationally.

Based at Alpha Tower – one of the Birmingham’s best-known architectural landmarks – BPTW’s Midlands studio will be overseen by Partner Justin Kelly alongside Associate Alex Gibbons and Architect Nicola Freeman. Supported by BPTW’s other partners and a wider team of architectural and business support staff, the team has extensive experience of the region, having successfully delivered projects across the Midlands. BPTW is currently undertaking a number of projects at early development stages in Birmingham and Warwickshire.

Justin Kelly, Partner at BPTW commented: “As a practice we are increasingly working with a national client base and have strong links with specialist consultants who operate across the country. Our Midlands studio forms part of a strategic move to strengthen our presence outside of the Home Counties and improve the service we offer to clients with operations in the Midlands and surrounding regions. As reflected in the Government’s levelling-up agenda, we recognise that the Midlands is key to the UK’s growth and will be a key investment area for years to come. We are pleased to have a team here who are from the West Midlands and have a good knowledge of the area.  Our studio will also act as a springboard to securing work in other surrounding regions which can be better serviced by a Midlands  base.”

In light of the developing Covid-19 situation, BPTW can confirm that our Midlands (and London) teams have in place remote working and online video conferencing capabilities to ensure we can continue to effectively deliver work and facilitate project meetings.
