BPTW worked collaboratively with Genesis Housingand the wider project team to develop an independent but coordinated design for over 190 homes within the development. The design involved conversion and alterations, retaining key aspects of the original factory buildings while integrating a contemporary mix of brick, render, coloured glazing and timber to produce a robust and sustainable scheme. Our architects undertook a detailed analysis of the outline consented scheme, developing a range of alternatives which achieved a better-quality layout.
Working closely with the client and the design team, we developed a clear understanding of the local property market, adding value to this mixed-tenure scheme by responding to the needs of future tenants, be it first time buyers, families or young professionals.
