bptw planning is acting as planning consultant for the redevelopment of Rochester Riverside, a major regeneration project which will see the transformation of the area, extending the city centre of one of South East England’s most historic cathedral cities. bptw planning has prepared and managed the submission of a hybrid planning application consisting of a detailed application for 489 homes, new open spaces, 81 bed hotel and commercial floorspace in Phases 1-3 and outline application for up to 1,400 homes across the whole masterplan area together with a new primary school and commercial floorspace.

bptw planning has played a key role in the preparation of the application, taking a leading role in engagement with the Council and Homes and Communities Agency. The team has also led on a comprehensive programme of consultation ensuring the local community and businesses have been included within the design process. bptw planning has been working closely with bptw architecture on this project who have led on developing the detailed designs for the first 3 phases.

 The project went committee and received planning consent in October 2017.
