Blackhorse Lane, Waltham Forest
Working as planning consultant on behalf of MacDonald Egan, bptw secured planning approval from the London Borough of Waltham Forest for the major redevelopment of a site on Blackhorse Lane. The mixed used development will provide 484 one to four bed apartments and maisonettes and a 519 unit student accommodation building, along with additional retail, community and employment floorspace and a café. The 2.8ha Mandora site is located just north of Blackhorse Road Underground and is currently occupied by a number of large industrial and office buildings. When complete, the proposed scheme will provide around 133 car parking, and over 700 cycle parking spaces.
From the outset bptw were responsible for providing expert planning advice, submitting planning policy representations and handling the submission of the full planning application which was approved in September 2013 with the Chair commenting that it was the largest scheme they had ever had at committee.
