Sparrow Farm Drive is seeing the redevelopment of an existing community facility with a brand new community centre and an additional 25 apartments, 100% of which will be provided as affordable rent dwellings.
Acting as lead consultant, BPTW provided planning consultancy services to the Council, assisting them maximising the number of new homes on the site. Our planners co-ordinated the consultation strategy, dealing with a number of local sensitivities regarding the reprovision of the community centre, densities and parking. BPTW was responsible for directing the scheme architects in how best to address concerns raised. This work was instrumental in securing support from the planning officer who recommended approval without any substantial amendments to the scheme or delays in getting the scheme to the targeted planning committee date. The scheme was presented to committee and given resolution to grant September 2017.
