Fresh Wharf Phase 2 will complete the transformation of a former industrial site into a vibrant new neighbourhood, fronting onto the river Roding in Barking. The scheme will provide 379 new homes while offering new community amenities for residents and the wider public.

BPTW’s planning consultancy team was appointed to lead the pre-application process and submission of the Reserved Matters Application for Phase 2 of Fresh Wharf. Our team took a leading role in the pre-application discussions with BeFirst and the GLA (Greater London Authority), as well as attending the Design Review Panel presentations and community consultations to secure permission for the development.

Designed by GRID Architects, the development includes five new residential buildings ranging from eight to nine storeys and 18 three-storey townhouses. Providing the foundations for a landmark development on the fringe of Barking Town Centre, Fresh Wharf sensitively reflects the industrial setting and riverside character to make a lasting contribution to the regeneration of Barking.
