BPTW secured a unanimous resolution to grant permission for this 170 unit build-to-rent scheme in Barking town centre. The development will also provide over 1,207 sqm of other space for commercial, retail and office use.
In a landmark building of up to 13 storeys and consisting of extensive improvements to the public realm, the scheme will help to regenerate this area of Barking’s town centre.
BPTW represented the client throughout the planning process, liaising with the Council’s Planning Officers and the Council’s regeneration team through a series of pre-application meetings, as well as leading discussions with elected members through briefing sessions. Our planners presented the scheme at Committee in October 2016, where a unanimous resolution to grant was achieved. BPTW played a leading role in the consultation of the scheme representing both Lindhill and the Council at a public exhibition and preparing the subsequent Statement of Community Involvement which accompanied the planning application submission.
