Our scheme Imperial Street has been shortlisted in the Housing category in the NLA Awards 2018. Imperial Street is an ambitious collaboration by ourselves and Pitman Tozer Architects to regenerate a former scaffolding yard at Bromley-by-Bow with the creation of 407 new dwellings - 4 apartment blocks and 6 mews houses. The scheme for Lindhill Properties is organised as a new city quarter, revitalising the site through the provision of new housing for new and existing communities. bptw and Pitman Tozer Architects developed individual sites to a successful planning application whilst collaborating on wider issues common to both. Each building explores differentiation in brick colour tone, providing subtle variation within a consistent overall architectural language. Uniting all buildings is a ‘tide mark’ – a low band of darker brick level that introduces human scale and roots the development in its waterside setting and industrial heritage.
We look forward to the NLA Awards Lunch on the 4th July.
