



Loampit Vale
The planning team has been working closely with Barratt East London, Assael Architecture and LA Architects to successfully gain planning permission for Loampit Vale, a large scale mixed use development in Lewisham, south east London.
With 788 new homes, designed to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, the scheme will deliver a new urban centre for Lewisham. A new leisure centre forms the striking corner of the development which includes a gym, swimming pool, café, creche, climbing wall and health spa, all to achieve the BREEAM rating of excellent. Public realm is much improved acrss the development with the help of new open spaces and piazzas.
The planning team advised on a political lobbying strategy and used key contacts at the Greater London Authority (GLA) to secure the Mayor of London’s support for the scheme. The quality and thoroughness of the planning services bptw provided along with the fully coordinated approach, working with the GLA, ultimately contributed to the scheme being granted a successful planning permission in 2009.
