Lymington Fields
bptw partnership is working collaboratively with Watkins Grey International on a large scale, mixed use scheme in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
The former Brownfield site will be regenerated as a mixed use scheme to provide over 600 residential units, with both houses and flats. Units range from one to five bedrooms, over a maximum of four storeys.
The scheme will address local housing need in the Barking and Dagenham Borough, providing affordable options for local residents, including shared ownership, general needs rent, private sale and key worker units; with some units being adapted for wheelchair use.
Dwellings will be built around shared green spaces offering spaces for residents to interact, relax and socialise. The scheme incorporates a shared sports pitch and land allocated for a two form entry primary school and health facility forming the heart of the site, ensuring the large number of new residents to the area have good access to education and healthcare provision.
Green solutions have been considered for the development including a biomass boiler and photovoltaics. The large-scale project will also utilise timber frame construction offering speed, efficiency and low embodied energy in prefabricated cassettes manufactured off site.
