



The Laurels Healthy Living Centre and Turners Court
bptw partnership’s bold and innovative design has transformed a former derelict site into a landmark building in the Tottenham community. The Laurels Healthy Living Centre and Turners Court comprises a health care centre, mixed tenure housing development and café facilities, increasing employment opportunities and a sense of pride for residents and workers.
The Laurels has been recognised by the National Housing Federation as an exemplary regeneration project developed through best practice and partnering. MP for Tottenham, David Lammy, has endorsed the site stating: “I want this scheme to be a national example of best practice so there are many more schemes like this is in the future.”
Around 1500 square metres of specialised accommodation for NHS Primary Care and PCT community services has been provided at this site, as well as 71 flats arranged in stepped formation. Brick and colourful render have been used in conjunction with dynamic design features throughout.
The Laurels Healthy Living Centre and Turners Court has won the Best Partnership & Contribution to Regeneration at the 2004 National Housing Federation Affordable Home Ownership Awards.
