Situated on a prominent corner site in the centre of Pitsea, Essex, bptw’s designs for a high quality creative solution on a busy corner junction has resulted in 121 mixed tenure apartments over commercial space at ground floor level and an attractive raised podium garden to the rear of the building.
The five commercial units situated on the ground floor provide great opportunities for local businesses, ideally suited for new shops or a café with space for extra tables and chairs on the pavement.
Design drivers for the scheme focussed on improving the public realm of the site, providing safer pedestrian routes along the shops and up to the station, and improving business activity in the centre of town. This has resulted a vastly improved visual appearance of the area and continuity of the urban grain.
