bptw partnership have designed a new mixed use scheme that will transform a disused industrial site into a high quality building comprising residential and studio space.
Located on Childers Street in Deptford, the landmark site provides a gateway to Lewisham alongside the high level railway line from central London.
Designs have responded to the local authority’s aspiration for a contemporary development that would reflect the thriving creative community in the local area.
The new apartments will be available for shared ownership, with new studios offering accommodation on lower floors creating the opportunity to undertake enterprise with a healthy life/work balance, while generating new commercial interest in the local area. Childers Street neighbours a predominantly low-rise residential community, and the scale and density of the development is sympathetic to its urban context and surrounding architecture.
