Acre Lane
bptw partnership’s design for Acre Lane in Brixton has achieved planning success after a compelling case was put forward by our architectural and planning teams. The scheme, for Genesis Housing Group, will transform the existing timber yard into an exciting residential and commercial complex.
The scheme comprises 60 units, with 20 family houses in two terraces flanking a central communal space and 40 new flats providing one and two bed accommodation.
The buildings are designed to meet level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes by reducing annual heating demands and providing low energy lighting in the residential units. A flexible design approach to the scheme parameters and careful consideration of celling to floor heights has resulted in versatile ground floor commercial space, providing flexible working and encouraging investment back into the local area.
