Three Colts Lane
An invited design competition for Swan Housing Group; bptw’s successful entry responds to key site constraints in an innovative way; transforming the disused business centre into a mixed use housing development of 76 units whilst complementing and enhancing the local context.
The main form of the scheme is designed in two curved flatted elements, articulated with a sinuous brick façade that wraps around the majority of the envelope. A mix of flats and a family mews street, including four bed houses form the accommodation mix, set around an attractive landscaped amenity deck space. The amenity space created between the blocks allows sunlight to enter the heart of the space; in addition views are created through to the business centre, which forms an attractive historic backdrop to the contemporary housing.
