Lyme Grove

Lyme Grove, just off Mare Street on Loddiges Road in Hackney is a new build development for London and Shoreditch Housing Association; a leading member of the North River Alliance. The project, which has recently gained planning permission, involves the demolition of two existing residential blocks of 28 rented bed-sit properties.

The proposed scheme will offer 41 mixed tenure new homes comprising one and two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom maisonettes. The ground floor dwellings will have private gardens and other units will have amenity space in the form of balconies or roof terraces.

The project is to use a variety of materials including brick, zinc cladding and aluminium windows. The iconic building steps from four to eight storeys and will successfully fit in with the surrounding context.

The development, which will achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, incorporates a green roof with photovoltaics along with rainwater harvesting.
