Larden Road
bptw partnership has worked collaboratively with SHP, living-architects and landscape architects, Farrer Huxley Associates, to design a large-scale residential and mixed use scheme in west London.
Located on the former Prestolite Factory site in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, the project involves the redevelopment of 2.4 hectares of land on Larden Road in Acton.
Designs involve new build, conversion and alterations, retaining key aspects of the original factory buildings while combining a contemporary mix of brick, render, coloured glazing and timber materials to produce a robust and sustainable new build solution.
Reaching current targets of incorporating 10 per cent renewable energy resources, the Prestolite Factory redevelopment is oriented to maximise natural sources of light and heat and integrates wind turbine and communal heating technology.
The new development will provide a total of 453 homes for private sale, shared ownership and rented accommodation. Other uses provided as part of the development include a health care facility, café, retail and community spaces, and landscaping for shared spaces, play areas and green spaces. Plans for the site comprise 280 car parking spaces, 103 of which will be provided off site.
