Charlton Triangle
bptw partnership’s has provided architectural and cost consultancy services for the wider regeneration of Charlton Triangle. The project has involved the refurbishment of existing buildings and designs for five new build residential developments.
Designs for the first new build development in Charlton Church Lane have transformed a heavily contaminated, steeply sloping site into a new residential scheme offering dramatic views over London. The new building replaces a 10-storey flat block with 36 new affordable houses and apartments featuring pitched roofs, timber panels and secure entrances.
Designs for the four other new build developments in Victoria Way, Rectory Field Crescent, Bramhope Lane and East Mascalls will result in 225 homes for affordable rent and private sale, including houses and apartments. Featuring brick, render and timber cladding, the homes are contemporary in design and provide spacious living areas and private amenity.
The initial scheme in Charlton involved extensive community and resident consultation for the refurbishment of 1286 homes in four housing estates, including low-rise flats, a tower block, common areas and landscape design for external spaces and play areas. The detailed works have included replacement of windows, systems refits, and security enhancements in accordance with Secured By Design standards.
