Studley Community Centre

Using green materials, bptw partnership’s striking modern design and a highly successful consultation programme have combined to make this building a success story for sustainable development and the residents of central Stockwell.

bptw partnership worked in close consultation with local people to develop the design, finishes and external works. This has created an adaptable, multi-functional space which is in constant use by the community.

Activity zones are linked through a glazed lobby and seating area, and the private rear garden is used as part of a crèche or as a function space. The centre is also used for the local MP’s surgery.

The community centre layout maximises natural day light and ventilation without excessive exposure to sunlight. Studley Community Centre is now a popular and highly successful local facility.
