Barnsbury Community Centre

As part of the wider Barnsbury Estate regeneration bptw was commissioned to design a new community centre. Cross subsidised by 19 shared ownership units which have been built on the existing community centre site, the new facility now gives the local residents a modern and flexible new facility.

Local resident consultation formed a key part of the design process for the new centre. The resulting brief ensured that the future needs and requirements of the centre would meet the residents’ expectations.

The centre comprises two generous hall spaces, a seminar room, toilets, kitchen, storage space, a reception/staff office and an outside terrace area. The building also houses an office for BELMO, the tenants management organisation.
