Kender Estate
bptw partnership has developed the masterplan and design for the regeneration of 720 homes at the former Kender Estate in New Cross, London.
Throughout the large-scale regeneration scheme, the practice has been involved in the refurbishment of 355 existing homes in the Kender neighbourhood. The design and implementation of improvements to the existing properties took place following an extensive and highly successful consultation programme where residents remained in occupation of their homes throughout the refurbishment process.
The refurbishment designs included the provision of frail and elderly accommodation at The White House, and the overcladding and enhancements to two 12 storey residential tower blocks at Hatfield Close.
Wider regeneration of the Kender neighbourhood has involved refurbishment and new build designs at the other buildings forming part of the programme.
bptw partnership also provided cost consultancy, quantity surveyor and planning supervisor services on this project.
