HG Wells Centre, Bromley

Client: Cobalt (Bromley South) Ltd
Quanta: 256 m2 community uses, 1467 m2 office space and 52 residential units over 7 to 17 storeys

Appointed by Cobalt Ltd, bptw provided planning consultancy services to obtain full planning permission for the redevelopment of the former HG Wells Centre in Bromley town centre. Planning permission was obtained on appeal via the Planning Hearing procedure, considered necessary in complex cases such as these that require round table discussion between the inspector and the appellant, council and third parties. With buildings ranging from 7 to 17 storeys in height, this tall building is set to enhance the skyline with a landmark building of high architectural quality, also creating permeability and integration with the town centre. The mixed use scheme will allow for the re-provision of community space with high quality, flexible spaces to accommodate a range of community needs.  Extensive office space over 3 floors is also being provided along with 52 modern residential units which will add vitality to Bromley by providing highly sustainable town centre living.
