Heathside and Lethbridge, Lewisham

Quanta: 1,192 residential units, 512sqm retail and 768sqm community space

bptw planning were appointed as planning consultants for the major redevelopment of the Heathside and Lethbridge Estate in Lewisham. The £200m project, now branded Parkside, will transform the estate into a new mixed tenure development with 1,192 homes and new community facilities.  The team secured an outline consent for the entire development, with detailed consent for the first phase of 130 homes. Retained by Family Mosaic to act as consultant on the following phases, bptw planning obtained permission for minor material amendments and reserved matters on phase 3 of the scheme, which will create a further 218 homes along with a community centre and nursery.

Working closely with the LPA and residents, through a detailed design review process, the team have been able to provide numerous examples of good practice, putting forward a convincing case to allay concerns regarding the proposed density of the estate which is being more than doubled in capacity.
