bptw planning is pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted with a unanimous decision at committee to allow the redevelopment of the former Marine Ices site on Haverstock Hill, Camden. With bptw working as planning consultants, the scheme is being undertaken on behalf of London & Regional Properties and will see a small 3-screen arthouse cinema or retail space occupy the ground and basement levels, and 19 residential units on the upper levels with a communal courtyard for residents at the first floor level.
Located near to the popular music destination, The Roundhouse, as well as Chalk Farm tube station, the site’s historic use as a family-run ice cream parlour means there has been much interest from local residents regarding its proposed redevelopment. The site has been vacant after Marine Ices shifted location in 2012, so the proposed scheme with its potential for a social setting has seen a lot of support from local residents.
