Planning approval granted for 10 Leake Street, Waterloo

Planning permission was recently granted for a London and Regional Properties development situated in Leake Street which involved the conversion of an existing building and addition of three new floors.

The project required a sensitive design approach, close liaison with LB Lambeth and a comprehensive neighbour consultation process due to its location close to Waterloo Station and between two designated zones; the scheme was challenging in terms of delivering a workable layout that achieved LHDG standards within a constrained footprint. The resulting design response, which was developed through exploration of a number of options for the scheme, creates a discreet but contemporary addition to the existing building. This was reflected on the night of the planning committee which had no objections to the Leake Street application.
