bptw planning recently achieved approval for a new air dome sports facility at South Craven School in West Yorkshire. The facility will provide a much needed all-weather facility for the school and wider community. Prior to bptw’s involvement the project was subject to two previous failed applications. bptw’s planning team undertook a comprehensive review to understand concerns raised on the previous planning refusals which in turn helped in informing modifications to the original proposal. These modifications included proposed tree planting along the site’s eastern boundary to screen the development from neighbouring properties, ammended hours of use informed by a specialist activity noise assessment and a proposed internal lighting scheme designed to minimise the amount of trespass light and spilling of light beyond the area being lit.
Support for the scheme from the school community, along with the submission of specialist information resulted in officer recommendation for approval and planning permission being granted.
