Planning approval for residential scheme on Waters Square, Kingston upon Thames

Posted: 23.08.2013

This week bptw received a unanimous vote at planning committee, securing approval from the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames for a residential development on Waters Square. Highly commended by the planners, the scheme for Thames Valley Housing consists of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments arranged within an individual flat block, and 2 and 3 bedroom houses.

The affordable homes will be built on a redundant triangular site in Kingston which informed the layout of the development. The surrounding context has been reinterpreted into a modern vernacular, with the large roofs of surrounding buildings being replicated in bptw’s design which incorporates steep pitches, allowing generously sized attic rooms to be formed.
