This morning, as part of our ‘giving something back’ initiative, bptw hosted a well-being breakfast in aid of Mental Health Awareness Week. A range of food was on offer, with all donations going towards the Mental Health Foundation. This year, Mental Health Awareness Week seeks to understand why so few of us are thriving with good mental health. Our breakfast coincided with the introduction of the Architects Benevolent Society’s support network which is being launched to offer help to architects suffering with mental health problems. The support system, backed by RIBA and in partnership with Anxiety UK, corresponds with a recent survey undertaken by the AJ, revealing that mental health is the biggest single worry for respondents aged under 30, with 38 per cent saying it was their largest workplace concern. At bptw, we aim to ensure that all our staff have access to mental health support so they are able to thrive in both their professional and personal lives.
