Last week bptw’s planning team secured unanimous approval at planning committee, on behalf of Barratt, for two linked planning applications to LB Barnet.
Permission for the relocation of the Chandos Lawn Tennis Club, currently situated adjacent to the Hampstead Garden Suburb, will allow for the provision of improved facilities for club members on a new site currently occupied by a vacant garden centre. The second approval will see the redevelopment of the existing site to facilitate the creation of 45 high quality private homes. The houses are designed in the Arts and Crafts architectural style and will offer extensive amenity space and landscaped gardens along with car and cycle parking.
bptw worked closely with planning officers and two teams of architects to meet challenges such as relocating the tennis club to a site within Metropolitan Open Land and providing private market housing to meet the high design standards expected of a new development located adjacent to the prestigious Hampstead Garden Suburb Conservation Area.
