bptw hosts Dragon’s Den challenge for local young people

Posted: 23.07.2014

This afternoon saw a team of young people from the local area arrive at bptw as part of The Challenge Programme – where teams design and deliver a campaign focussing on a local issue they feel passionate about.

To ensure the teams produce a campaign that is engaging and practical, they visit a local business to meet inspirational staff and be introduced to an office environment. The following day they then deliver their idea in a Dragons’ Den pitch in the hope of receiving funding for their project.

The teams visited our practice this afternoon to be introduced to the practice, meet some of our staff and talk through their ideas for their campaign.  Architectural associate Chris Bath, planner Sascha Newton, partner Carol Strevens and marketing & business development coordinator Israel George each gave a presentation about their departments’ work to the students.

The Challenge Programme is delivered by The Challenge Network, a charity that connects and inspires people to strengthen their communities. Through the charity, young people are inspired to bond together, taking more active roles within their communities and are given opportunities to form connections with people they wouldn’t usually network with including local business leaders, MPs and the elderly.
