bptw progress with BIM Level 2 on Phase 1B of Blackwall Reach regeneration

Posted: 21.10.2016

bptw architecture has recently been progressing the post-planning designs with contractor Hill for Phase 1 B of the Blackwall Reach regeneration in Tower Hamlets. The project for Swan Housing Association is due to start on site in November and will create 242 new homes in 3 blocks ranging from 10 to 24 storeys in height, also delivering significant public realm improvements with the creation of a new square around Blackwall DLR station.

The project was mandated by our client Hill  to be Level 2 BIM compliant, following an Employers Information Requirement (EIR) document provided by the Hill team. bptw has led in the creation of a BIM execution plan for the project and assisted Hill in understanding Level 2 BIM requirements via technically focused meetings and presentations. We are currently working with Hill to feedback on, and refine, the BIM deliverables and EIR development.

The scheme will create a strong sense of arrival at Blackwall DLR station and create a key link to the wider £300m Blackwall Reach masterplan to the north.
