243 Ealing Road has been listed in Inside Housing’s Top 60: Joint Venture Developments of the Year 2015. The project, a joint venture between Network Living and Hill, will see 441 homes built upon the Grand Union canal in Alperton, London; formerly a site of a B&Q warehouse.
The landmark development is part of a £520m Brent Council regeneration initiative and will act as a catalyst for future improvements to the area. bptw acted as executive architect on the project to deliver the post-planning technical design on the £100m development. Off-plan sales allowed bptw and the development team to speed up the construction programme to meet demand 18 months ahead of schedule. Of the tenure-blind homes, 76 are shared ownership, shared equity or Rent to Buy, 254 are reserved for outright sale and 54 homes for sale through shared ownership and 57 for affordable rent.
“The first designs suggest a fully integrated scheme will be achieved,” believes Steve Douglas, one of the award’s judges.
Inside Housing’s Top 60 Development’s aim to reward the most outstanding development schemes, with the Joint Venture Award celebrating the finest collaborations on mixed tenure housing projects. This award shortlist marks the second this year for bptw, with our development at Isobel place, Tottenham also picked for the Regeneration Scheme of the Year category.
