RHP Head Office, Richmond

Client: Richmond Housing Partnership

bptw’s competition winning designs for the new head offices for Richmond Housing Partnership delivered a contemporary three storey building set back from the street with open views towards the surrounding area. The high quality nature of the designs won over the planning authority, with the new office setting a precedent for forthcoming designs, creating a stepping stone towards modernising the area.

The offices are separated into three wings, with the principal wing facing Waldegrave Road providing a continuous street frontage and reinforcing the existing urban grain. Two further wings project into the site to create a central courtyard space that maximises natural light into the building and provides a break-out space for staff. As well as achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating, the project has won widespread recognition including a Green Apple Award for Sustainability and was shortlisted in the RIBA London Awards.
