Liberty Park, Wainscott, Kent

Client: West Kent Housing Association and Crest Nicholson

A modern extra care and healthcare facility in Wainscott, Kent, Liberty Park provides 56 new one and two bed homes surrounded by attractive landscaped gardens. The design concept was informed by factors including circulation, accessibility, internal functions and orientation. The building is divided into three wings linked by a circulation spine to maximise south, west and easterly aspects. A range of facilities incorporated within the development include a kitchen, communal lounge and dining area, activity room, garden room, hairdressers, laundry, IT suite and a shop.

In keeping with the surrounding context, the design and materials for Liberty Park complement the local vernacular, also providing an active frontage which helps to create an attractive street scene. A new healthcare centre and integrated pharmacy is also being provided and will incorporate consulting rooms, training and meetings rooms, and a range of staff facilities.
