Bencurtis Park, Bromley

Client: Glebe Housing Association

20 new mixed tenure sheltered and nursing care homes at Bencurtis Park offer a range of dwelling types from spacious one bed wheelchair accessible and general needs homes, to two bed apartments and bungalows. To maximise natural sun and daylight into dwellings, main rooms are either southerly or dual aspect, and have large windows positioned to take advantage of spectacular views across the park. Balconies and garden terraces overlook an extensively landscaped area, and communal spaces are naturally lit with ample space for indoor plants and seating to encourage resident interaction.

Built to comply with a host of design standards, homes have been laid out to aid and promote supported living with an open plan design enabling residents with impaired mobility to move between rooms with greater ease. Well insulated, double glazed, homes are built with electric under floor heating offering even warmth across all rooms, and a range of sustainability measures include P.V panels and water saving bathroom fittings.
